Laoxiang Mountain
Laoxiang Mountain is the second highest peak in Gaoming District. It is named after the mountain is rich in toon trees. It is located in the northwest corner of Gaoming, on the boundary of Gaoming, Gaoyao and Xinxing counties. Laoxiang Mountain is 15 kilometers long from east to west, 6.5 kilometers wide from north to south, and covers an area of 96.3 square kilometers. The highest peak, Chunhua Peak, is 699 meters above sea level.
“Mawei Waterfall” is one of Gaoming’s new eight scenic spots. Entering Laoxiang Mountain, what you see is the “horse tail water” pouring down from a height of seventy to eighty meters. “Horse Tail Water” is like a wild horse that runs off the rein and dives to the bottom of the valley, then hits a boulder and splashes in all directions. It is named after a bunch of flying horsetails. The boulder hit by the Mongquan also resembles a Guanyin, so it is also called “Water Bumping Guanyin”.
Every time the “horse tail water” rains down, the sound of the mountains and valleys doubles, and the waterfall splashes and flies in the mist, which is a miracle.
Laoxiang Mountain is famous for its majestic mountains, winding valleys, pouring springs, and beautiful mountain flowers. It is also the birthplace of Gaoming River and attracts many mountain climbing enthusiasts every year.
