Shunde museum is a comprehensive museum, through the collection and display of local cultural relics, ancient buildings, historical materials, works of art and other cultural heritage to preserve and promote Shunde’s unique local culture. It is a cultural platform integrating collection, display, publicity, education, scientific research and other functions. Founded in 1980, it is subordinate to the Publicity Department of Shunde District Committee (Shunde District Culture and Sports Bureau )
The new museum of Shunde District covers an area of 32500 ㎡, a total building area of 27000 ㎡, and a display area of 9084 ㎡. It is composed of the main building and the auxiliary building, including three floors above the ground, four floors in part and one floor underground, with a maximum of 26 meters in part. The main building of the building is a visiting area, consisting of basic exhibition hall, special exhibition hall and temporary exhibition hall. The basic exhibition hall covers a total area of 4751 ㎡. There are two permanent exhibition halls, namely the exhibition hall of Shunde people and the historical exhibition hall of Shunde ancestral hall. The total area of the special exhibition hall is about 2913 ㎡. There are six special exhibition halls, namely “overseas hometown exhibition hall”, “Ming and Qing furniture exhibition hall”, “collection cultural relics exhibition hall”, “Li Xiaolong exhibition hall”, “collection calligraphy and painting exhibition hall” and “Guangdong opera Quyi exhibition hall”. The temporary exhibition hall covers an area of 1420 ㎡, which is used to undertake all kinds of temporary exhibitions. In addition to the exhibition area, the main building also has various service and functional areas, including academic research room, multi-functional conference room, library, food center, rest activity area, baby care room, shops, etc., to provide various services for the audience. The auxiliary building of the building is an office area. In addition to the offices of various departments, there are also professional rooms such as painting and calligraphy creation room, cultural relics restoration room, photography room, cultural relics appreciation room, mounting room, etc.
Shunde Museum has a large dynamic LED screen in the public space area, which introduces the exhibition hall content and exhibition situation, and provides reference for visitors. The permanent exhibition hall is equipped with wireless voice guidance system and self-service explanation service. In addition, the museum is fully covered with WiFi wireless network, so that the audience can not only visit, but also consult the relevant information on the Internet, and share the fun of visiting with friends. The server of Museum Application Computer Information Center also has collection cultural relic system, library management system, file management system and material management system.
