Wenta Park is located next to Tianyou City, Ronggui town, Shunde, Foshan, Guangdong Province. The front of the tower faces east and the body of the tower is hexagonal.
“Guizhou Wenta” is a name in the “building” section of the county (now Shunde District, Foshan City) annals, but its architectural data and age are not recorded.
Each corner of the wall is 4.1 meters wide, with a total of seven floors and a total height of about 42 meters. There are stone hat inscriptions on each floor. On the first floor, “flying out of the blue sky”, on the second floor, “Xiujia Shiyang” (according to: the tower is in the south of Shishan mountain, Guizhou), on the third floor, “Jukui Pavilion”, on the fourth floor, “title office”, on the fifth floor, “Han Gao Xia”, on the sixth floor, “Feng Ming”, and on the seventh floor, “Lingzhao” are not appreciated. According to e shuxiu, there are five categories: regular script, grass script, Zhuan script, Li script, and Xing script. It’s said that Hu Jun wrote in calligraphy. He was admitted as a Guizhou man. In 1792, he was admitted as a deputy Gongsheng. So to speak, it can be a proof of the time when the pagoda was built.
The tower is an attic type brick and wood structure. The brick masonry method of the tower has one feature. Every five lines changes one style. It starts with one horizontal and one horizontal, then two horizontal and one horizontal, and then three horizontal and one horizontal, four horizontal and one horizontal, five horizontal and one horizontal. It is an isolated example of the existing brick masonry of ancient pagodas in our county (now Shunde District, Foshan City).
Guizhou (now Guizhou and Rongqi town were merged into Ronggui street of Shunde District in 2003) wentazi was repaired in 1989. Due to the strict construction in accordance with the principle of ancient construction and repair, the characteristics of simple, elegant and bright color of the tower were restored. In order to protect the ancient pagoda effectively, the land around the pagoda has been expropriated and turned into a small park surrounded by brick walls. Inside, there are pavilions and water cupboards, and the main gate is built with a four pillar archway, which is spectacular. In May 1991, the tower was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit. After 2007, the surrounding area of Wenta has become a fully open park. The original walls and surrounding shops have been demolished and relocated, and fitness facilities such as tennis court, table tennis court, badminton court and gate court have been added. With the historical attraction of Wenta, Wenta park has become a good place for Ronggui to have leisure and entertainment. Now it is a beautiful scenery of Ronggui.
