Zhongshan Park is located on the Bank of Fenjiang River in the northeast of Foshan City. It is a comprehensive park integrating publicity, exhibition, science popularization, entertainment, diet, leisure and so on. It was built in 1928 to commemorate Dr. Sun Yat Sen. At present, the park covers an area of 28.07 hectares (including 12.5 hectares of water surface and 15.5 hectares of green land), forming a landscape characterized by broad waterscape and rich greening. The park is divided into nine scenic areas, namely, Nanmen square area, historical and cultural area, elderly activity area, lawn area, Lake area, children’s play area, animal viewing area, and viewing and resting area. Each scenic area is scattered and beautiful, with mixed feelings and scenes.
There are more than twenty of them, such as the ancient charm of Cinnamomum camphora, Hongyan waterfall, green Chunhui, Yingxiu of archway, Yingcui of Kongqiao, jingwuxiongfeng, Puying long dike, Shili lotus wind, fangzhuhuating, Koi playing in the water, Lihu wave light, overlooking the hump, Danming morning light, coconut forest sunset, Bibo flying rainbow, Qingyun cicada singing, etc. Each scenic spot combines the traditional and modern gardening techniques, which makes the tourists interesting and unforgettable because of the local situation and simple nature. Children’s amusement projects in the park are rich and colorful. There are entertainment facilities such as happy square, elevated pulley, happy horse racing group, self controlled flying saucer, etc. children of all ages can find endless fun here. The zoo covers an area of 6500 square meters, with a total of 46 kinds of 325 rare animals. You can enjoy wonderful animal performances on holidays and weekends, such as elephant dancing, monkey carrying water, parrot reading words, dog climbing pole, etc.
