Chancheng Governments Tourism Goals
In recent years, Chancheng has insisted on planning and promoting the creation of a comprehensive all-for-one tourism demonstration zone in Guangdong Province and improving the quality of urban functions.
Focusing on the three themes of building an area of kindness, innovation centre and happy home, it has increased investment in upgrading traditional attractions, exploring new tourism resources, upgrading tourism experience and shaping the city of Lingnan culture.

Many tourists who come to Foshan for the first time, the first place they will visit is the Ancestral Temple.
According to data, from May 1 to May 5, the Ancestral Temple received nearly 9000 tourists, almost reaching the visitor limit on each day. And during the five-day holiday, Chancheng received a total of 349,100 tourists.
In order to promote the all-for-one tourism, the major attractions are the main support. In recent years, Chancheng has continued to increase investment in the expansion of traditional places of interest.
In the past three years, 1.2 billion yuan have been invested in the Ancestral Temple, the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, Liang Yuan for upgrade and reconstruction. The Ancestral Temple has newly built a Foshan Zumiao History and Culture Exhibition Hall. The Ancient Nanfeng Kiln has built a large-scale ceramic art research and tourism practice base, and Liang Yuan has invested more than 900 million yuan to improve the environment of the whole area.
Shiwan Town, China’s Ceramic Alley, led by the national 4A-level tourist spot the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln is trying to improve its tourism.
Through government guidance and social participation, a historical leisure block was built in order to get people “drunk” with happiness.
In the block, you can find Chen Taiji Winery, Han Tao Museum (Chinese Ceramic Museum), the century-old Baofeng Pagoda, Fengning Temple and Lianfeng Academy.
It has also introduced coffee shops, bookstores, digital film and television centre, fashion and art area and other leisure facilities. Therefore, the tourist volume of China’s Ceramic Alley has grown rapidly.
In 2019, the Ancient Nanfeng Kiln alone received 1.646 million tourists, which greatly improved tourism consumption.

While optimizing and digging deep into the potential of traditional tourist spots, Chancheng is also actively making increments, repairing a lot of historical and cultural blocks, and turning the blocks into attractions.
Lingnan Tiandi has become a place for the concentrated exhibition of Lingnan culture and cultural tourism. A large number of ancient Lingnan buildings have been preserved, and 22 cultural relics such as Jian’s Villa, the wedding house, the Confucius temple, Li Zhongsheng ancestral shop have been activated and utilized.
Ancestral Temple and Donghuali ancient architectural complex in the block are comprehensive tourist spots integrating culture, tourism, residence and commerce, with more than 1.8 million tourists each year.
In October last year, Guorui Shengping historical and cultural block opened. Eight ancient buildings, including Qionghua Hall, Shengping Hall, the former residence of Chen Huashun, the old Fenning Road, the old Qilou Street, a memorial archway of Zhong Yi Xiang, Lingnan Shuian commercial street and Ju An Li, were rebuilt in the block.
They are integrated into the characteristic commercial street design plan to provide citizens and tourists with new commercial forms and a good place for tourism and leisure.
Among the 65 provincial-level historical and cultural blocks announced by the Guangdong Provincial Government in May this year, a total of 20 historical and cultural blocks in Foshan were selected, including eight historical and cultural blocks in Chancheng District.
Pinzi Street, Liang Yuan, Lianhua Nan, Renwei, the Ancestral Temple – Donghuali, Xin’an Street, Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, Huo’s Grand Ancestral Hall are all on the list.
In the past two years, Chancheng has also invested more than 2 billion yuan to promote the construction of a museum city and turn venues into places of interest.
At the same time, the Guanshui Temple on the water, the Lianfeng Academy, the Guogong Temple renovation project, and the Baofeng Pagoda were rebuilt.
At present, the total number of museums (art galleries and memorial halls) in the region has increased from 29 in 2018 to 45, with an exhibition area of more than 50000 square meters.
Nowadays, the museums (exhibition halls) in Chancheng District have become the tourist hot spots, attracting many citizens and tourists to pay a visit.

Zinan Village, Luonan Village, Nanzhuang Village, Longjin Village in Nanzhuang Town, Liantang Village, Dafu Village, Zhangcha Village, and Haikou Village in Zhangcha Region have all become good places for rural tourism.
For example, more than 300 million yuan has been invested in Zinan Village, which takes water culture as the foundation and leisure tourism as the expansion, to comprehensively improve the tourism environment.
Zinan Ecological Park, the Wetland Park, and the Art Center of Zinan Village have now become popular attractions.

Eco-tourism and leisure scenic spots
Chancheng also understands the importance of ecological balance in city quality improvement. 116 ecological renovation projects have been implemented, with an additional green area of 4275 mu (Mu is a unit of land area in China.
One mu is equal to about 666.667 square meters). In 2019 alone, 610 million yuan was invested to build the Wang Jiegang Forest Park, the sea of flowers Wenhua – Yayi Park, and flowers were planted at important nodes such as Lingnan Avenue and Wenhua Road, making Chancheng an ocean of flowers.

Through the overall optimization of tourism resources, infrastructure and tourism functions, the carrying pressure of core scenic spots should be better relieved and reduced, the core resources and ecological environment should be better protected.
